A decade ago, newspapers were the best sources of information and the best media for the latest news in and around the world. The people were able to determine the importance of subscribing a daily copy of newspapers or magazine. Thus, it has always been a tradition for news readers to get informed with what was happening around their community or country. Such tradition is also being practiced by some of the news readers. Although, the number of newspaper subscribers declined generously a decade ago due to the rise of the Internet.

The scene today is so divided in every field. The looming hand of governments and their departments coupled with media is a no-good for society. I recently watched a Ted talk by Rifkin on the idea of extending our natural empathy to the entire human race and all beings on earth. This is in line with the Buddhist ideas of "Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu" - may all people be happy, and "Sarva Jeeva Janthu Sukhino Bhavantu" - may all forms of life be happy.
